Citi Performing Arts Center, a non-profit institution which includes the Wang Theatre and the Shubert Theatre, is committed to making the performing arts relevant, accessible and vital throughout Boston's diverse communities. The institution's vision fosters a true nexus for broad-based access to the performing arts through engaging and reqarding education, public programming and performances reaching deep into Boston's communities and existing beyond the boundaries of its two theatres. As New England's largest cultural venue, it honors all aspects of the performing arts offering theatre, opera, classical and popular music, international ballet, contemporary dance, one night engagements and Broadway musicals.

Education
Founded in 1988 upon the belief that the arts are an essential part of daily life, the Citi Performing Arts Center Education Department is dedicated to motivating students, inspiring teachers and connecting communities through innovative performing arts programs. In an environment that fosters direct participation and self-expression, our education programs encourage individuals of all ages and backgrounds to approach challenges creatively and to better understand themselves as well as each other.

The Center's education and outreach efforts are designed to make the arts accessible to those who may not have been previously exposed to interactive and creative arts programs. Programs include the annual City Spotlights (a multi-month program that culminates with an event in May at the Shubert Theatre), Celebrate Shakespeare Day and the Education Department's Suskind Endowment.
